- Applications are available on our website and are due Friday, March 29th.
- Sponsorship forms have been distributed to our contacts at local companies and are also available on our website. If you think your employer may be interested in sponsoring, please either share this information with the appropriate person at your work or email us with the information for an appropriate contact so that we can reach out. Sponsorship commitments are due May 1st.

- Scholarship Application Workshop
- We will be running a workshop on scholarship applications with high school girls who participate in the program “Poised, Gifted, Ready”. The event will be held on February 28th at SU with assistance from the SU SWE section. We are looking for 1-2 volunteers to help with the event, please email us for details if interested.

Recent Events
- In January we held our annual Holiday Dinner and Happy Hour, this year at the CopperTop Tavern in Camillus. Members and friends enjoyed food, drinks, and networking. The event was well attended, it was lovely to see everyone!

- Sponsorship forms have been distributed to our contacts at local companies and are also available on our website. The January meeting was unexpectedly abridged due to power outages from the high winds that hit the region.

- Career Panel with SU SWE
- On Monday, November 13th we held a panel discussion with the Syracuse University SWE section with the theme of making changes in your career. Thank you to the professionals who volunteered to share their experiences and advice! The event was well attended and we are excited to be able continue to collaborate with the collegiate section.
- Friendsgiving
- In November SWE members and friends gathered to enjoy food and get to know each other better. The event was hosted at a section member’s home.

- Apple Picking
- In early October SWE members and friends met up at Beak & Skiff in LaFayette. We enjoyed beautiful weather, food, drinks, and apple picking! Thank you to everyone who came!

- In September we kicked off the fiscal year with a picnic at Maxwell Park in East Syracuse. SWE members and friends enjoyed networking and food! Thank you to everyone who came!

- SWE is switching the section websites from being hosted by Weebly to WordPress. The new website has been built and is ready to be activated. That said, it is visually a bit bare bones and has not been fully beta tested. If you are a SWE member and interested in helping with either visual appeal or testing the website’s functionality once it’s up and running, please respond to this email.

Recent Events
- 33rd Annual Scholarship Reception
- On May 22nd we recognized 6 young women from the Central New York region who are headed to college for STEM related majors in the coming fall. In addition to our members, we were joined by representatives of several of our sponsors, the scholarship recipients, and the recipients families and teachers. The event was held at Carrier, in East Syracuse, NY. Though this was not a record breaking year in regards to sponsorship we still received outstanding support from both long-term and new sponsors- each recipient received $1500 and the event had it’s largest attendance in recent years. It was a lovely evening and we look forward to continuing the tradition in 2024.

- In late June Greater Syracuse SWE members and friends gathered at Meier’s Creek Brewing Co.- Inner Harbor to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day! We enjoyed food, drinks, and participated in Trivia night at the venue.
