Outreach Opportunities
Volunteer with Girl Scouts
We are looking to work with a Junior Girl Scout troop out of the Fayetteville-Manlius School District to help the girls earn the “STEM Career Exploration” Badge. We are seeking volunteers to participate on a high level career path panel and possibly a hands-on activity, time allowing. This event was postponed from last spring and we now anticipate it taking place in November. The anticipated date is Thursday 11/6, the expected start time would be 6:30pm, lasting 1-1.5hrs. Thank you to those who have volunteered.
Is your organization having an outreach event dedicated to promoting STEM related fields? Email us to advertise to SWE members here! We can also find volunteers among our members for activities such as career days or classroom career talks.
Current SWE members- make your outreach count! If you have done STEM outreach through your employer or another organization it can be counted for our section! Help show how active we are by filling out the Society’s official “SWE Outreach Metric Tool” survey. Note: Any outreach done as an event through our section will be entered by a member of the board.
