Hidden Figures Movie Night
January 31, 2017- The Greater Syracuse Area Section of SWE organized a night out to the movies to see Hidden Figures. 25 SWE members and friends, including members of the Syracuse University section, met up and enjoyed dinner and the show at Movie Tavern in Camillus. A great time was had by all!
Annual Holiday Dinner
December 6, 2016 - The Greater Syracuse Area Section of SWE hosted our Annual Holiday Dinner this year at Empire Brewing Company. We had a great time catching up with our members and getting feedback on the year thus far as well as planning for the next half of the fiscal year!
Destiny USA LEED Tour with ASCE
November 9, 2016 - The Greater Syracuse Area Section of SWE partnered up with the Central New York Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) to tour the new extension of the Destiny USA and learn about the LEED aspects of the mall. The tour was led by Lauren Staniec, Destiny USA's sustainaibility consultant and Charlie Bertuch of Bergmann Associates. It was great to hear about all the sustainibility efforts happening locally!
"Get Profashionably Ready" with Syracuse University Engineering & Computer Science Student Success Center
September 13, 2016 - The Greater Syracuse Area Section of SWE was invited to sit on a professional representative panel at the "Get Profashionably Ready" event hosted by the Syracuse University Engineering & Computer Science Student Success Center as well as the SU sections of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) and SWE. We had a great time sharing our career fair experiences and advice as the SU students prepped for their career fair the next week!
Onondaga County Save the Rain Green Infrastructure Walking Tour & Syracuse Chiefs Baseball Outing with NYWEA
August 25, 2016 - The Greater Syracuse Area Section of SWE partnered up with the Central New York Chapter of the New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) to take a walking tour of Onondaga County's Civic Strip to learn about the stormwater practices used as part of the Save the Rain Program. After the walk attendees headed over to the NBT Bank Stadium to enjoy a Syracuse Chiefs Game!
